The Role
We are looking for an experienced Senior DevOps/SRE to join our team in Athens, Greece. This position requires strong problem-solving abilities, adaptability, and the capacity to prioritize tasks independently in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will consistently identify opportunities to automate infrastructure and processes, providing reliable and scalable solutions. Work is carried out using agile methodologies, emphasizing rapid iteration and continuous technical improvement.
The role is based on a full hybrid work model.
Responsibilities
• Design, scale, and automate highly available cloud infrastructure using modern Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform and Ansible, with a focus on a secure-by-design approach.
• Lead the implementation, optimization, and monitoring of robust CI/CD pipelines for rapid, safe software delivery and rollback, utilizing tools like Github Actions, Azure Pipelines and ArgoCD.
• Champion observability by deploying and refining distributed monitoring, alerting, and logging systems including Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, and Datadog. Set and track SLOs/SLIs and proactively manage error budgets.
• Serve as incident commander during major production events: lead diagnostics, mitigation, and post-mortems, promoting a blameless culture and driving root-cause resolution.
• Mentor and guide engineers in DevOps/SRE best practices, automation, and reliability engineering, while reviewing and coaching on complex troubleshooting.
• Evaluate, recommend, and integrate emerging technologies—including AIOps and cloud-native patterns—to enhance resilience, scalability, and developer productivity.
• Collaborate across teams to implement and enforce security, compliance, and privacy standards, aligning with global SaaS best practices for access controls and encryption.
Requirements:
• 5+ years’ experience in DevOps, SRE, or a comparable cloud/platform engineering role, with a proven record leading reliability and automation initiatives at scale.
• Advanced proficiency with Kubernetes, Azure (or multi-cloud scenarios), and infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, Ansible); deep Linux administration (Debian, CentOS) expertise. Experience with cloud infrastructure, preferably Azure.
• Track record of building and managing large-scale, resilient CI/CD systems; adept in Python, Bash, and modern API-driven automation.
• High-level familiarity with RDBMS (PostgreSQL/MySQL) and relevant data infrastructure concepts.
• Deep operational experience with high-availability, incident response, failover, disaster recovery, and blameless post-mortems.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and mentorship abilities; able to drive change and advocate for best practices across teams.
Nice to have:
• Strong experience with Microsoft ecosystem (M365, Azure AD), serverless, and event-driven architectures.
• Expertise with advanced monitoring, AIOps, chaos engineering, or security automation.
• Background in performance engineering, SRE budgeting (SLO/SLI), or regulatory compliance for SaaS.
• Contributions to open source or active participation in reliability/DevOps communities.
